AcA’s Sunny Side Jazz Brunch filled with sunshine and music
The Acadiana Center for the Arts could not have picked a more gorgeous spring day to host its annual Sunny Side Jazz Brunch. The elegant affair took place on April 7 at the home of Kip and Carolyn Schumacher in Lafayette.
Sponsors and guests were treated to a New Orleans-style brunch complete with Preservation Hall All-Stars musicians filling the air with traditional jazz tunes.
Guests dined on the grounds of the Schumacher home, which provided a stunning background for a perfect Sunday afternoon. The lovely scenery, along with a little Champagne, helped make the live auction a big success.
Guests got to bid on works of art, naturally, as well as some other fun things like dinners and spa packages. This music-filled event helped raise funds for AcA’s performing arts programs which include national acts of music, dance and theater. Funds raised also support the expansion of AcA’s Arts in Education work in schools and parishes around Acadiana.
We love the experience a fundraiser like this one provides. It is extraordinary for sure, but supporting any cause that spotlights Acadiana’s diverse arts scene is what makes the experience so special.
