Gear up for school: Tax Free Weekend in Arkansas August 3-4

LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — Tax Free Weekend is almost upon us, which means the ideal time for back-to-school shopping is here.

So what is Tax Free Weekend?

Tax Free Weekend is a tax holiday where taxes on certain things are reduced or reduced completely.

Not all retail purchases fall under the Tax Free Weekend umbrella, but there is a good amount of items that can be purchased during the holiday.

Certain electronic devices, school supplies, school art supplies, school instructional materials, and clothing (under the are all void of both state and local taxes, allowing for more money to be saved when prepping for going back to school.

Purchases can be made in-store or online, as long as the shipping address is within Arkansas.

This year’s Tax Free Weekend will run from Saturday, August 3 to Sunday, August 4.
