Shopping for a cause: Grand Strand nonprofit hosts 2nd annual rummage sale
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) – If you’re looking for an excuse to shop this weekend without breaking the bank, Junior League of the Grand Strand is hosting a rummage sale.
For the past several months, JLGS has collected gently used and new items folks across Horry and Georgetown Counties no longer want or need. The items include clothes, shoes, housewares, accessories, games and toys, housewares and more.
Junior League is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
The sale is happening this weekend, April 19-20, at the Myrtle Beach Train Depot.
Anyone interested in a sneak peek of the offerings can purchase a ticket for Friday night’s Sip and Shop event. The ticket is $30 and allows ticketholders to peruse and buy items ahead of the general public on Saturday.
There will also be entertainment, light bites, and drinks available Friday night, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
On Saturday, the sale is open to everyone from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Junior League will donate anything left over to one of its community partners.
