Birmingham training program aims to connect community healthcare workers with jobs
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A Birmingham nonprofit is working to get more people into the healthcare field – a field that is dealing with a severe shortages.
Connection Health is looking for more people to join their free training program to get more of you placed in front line jobs.
Connection Health is a nonprofit that employees, trains and places community healthcare workers.
Program leaders said this is not your typical training program. In fact, they are looking for people with no prior healthcare experience.
The free training program is completely virtual – you meet four days a week for nine weeks.
The training program teaches you how to work in the healthcare industry and prepares you for job interviews.
The program also covers tech skills needed for various jobs in the field.
This program is in partnership with Prosper Birmingham and healthcare employers like UAB looking for more healthcare workers.
“We hope that this training program will be able to attract people who thought this kind of career was out of their reach before,” said Karen Brown, program director.
