New entertainment center coming to Paragould
PARAGOULD, Ark. (KAIT) – Residents in Paragould will have more entertainment options soon.
The old Paragould Cinema 8 will soon be the center of entertainment in Paragould.
Chris Moyer, owner of the business, ran the old bowling center in Paragould from 2011 to 2016 when it burnt down.
The bowling center never reopened.
“I really was looking for years to find investors find a way to bring entertainment back to Paragould,” said Moyer. “A lot of people travel the Jonesboro to do a lot of things and Paragould really needed a place to bowl and do everything else from an entertainment standpoint.”
Moyer said the new entertainment center, which is unnamed at this time, will have plenty to offer.
“We are putting in 12 lanes of bowling, a laser tag facility, golf simulators, arcade games, and a restaurant,” he said.
Moyer said the theater was the perfect location.
“We’re able to go into an existing building that’s fairly new, it was built after 2000 and opened up sooner. So, instead of taking 18 to 24 months open, we’ll be able to open in about six months,” he said.
After losing a bowling center and a theater, Moyer was just excited for the next step.
“Being able to actually see it come to fruition and actually close on the building and really start the project is what excites me the most because it’s been a long eight years that this community hasn’t had an entertainment space and it’s time,” he said.
Moyer said construction would take place for the next couple of months.
He hopes the center will be operating by the end of the year, but he still wants the public to follow their progress.
“In a week or two we’ll start a Facebook page. We’re going to start taking pictures as we do the demolition and reconstruction of the building,” he said.
