8th annual Living in the Digital World Senior Expo and Conference is May 23

The eighth annual Living in the Digital World Senior Expo and Conference is scheduled for May 23, according to a news release.

“Keeping Seniors Connected” is the theme of expo which will run from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Don Umerley Civic Center, 21016 Hilliard Blvd., in Rocky River.

Seniors, family members and caregivers are invited to attend this free expo and conference to discover the many resources available to help seniors stay connected with their family, friends and community, according to the release.

Plus, attendees are invited to enjoy a relaxing mid-day break to socialize and enjoy light refreshments, the release said.

Presented by the Center for Aging in the Digital World, this free day out with fellow seniors will feature exhibits focused on services for older adults, a special presentation by Tak Sato, co-founder of the Center for Aging in the Digital, and a panel discussion on artificial intelligence (AI), according to the release.

This’s year’s Digital World Senior Expo is packed with exhibitors and presentations.

There will be people on-hand from a variety of organizations and businesses who are delighted to come out to talk with seniors about their needs and how they can assist in making their lives more enjoyable, the release said.

The expo opens at 9:30 a.m., followed by conference presentations beginning at 10:15 a.m. with a hands- on digital literacy workshop led by Sato who will teach participants how to use their smart phone to transcribe voice to text, according to the release.

This simple skill is especially helpful for people with hearing loss and for all those communicating in loud environments.

After the 11 a.m. refreshment break, the final conference presentation will begin at 12:30 p.m. with an engaging digital literacy AI panel discussion.

Volunteer senior ambassadors who have attended the free Discover Digital Learning! class offered by the Center for Aging in the Digital World will be available throughout the day to talk with attendees, according to the release.

“They are excited to share their stories of how they have embraced and are enjoying using technology in their daily lives,” the release said.

There is space left for businesses and services interested in being an expo exhibitor.

This is a wonderful opportunity to connect and share your services with seniors, the release said.

Sponsorship opportunities also are available.
