Meghan Markle’s Fashion Struggles Might Stem From Her ‘Controversial’ Status, a Fashion Expert Details

For many, Meghan Markle is one of the most stylish celebrities out there. Whether it’s her monochromatic looks or her flowy summer dresses, Markle has an elegance to her that elevates any look. But, as a fashion stylist is now uncovering, it seems Markle might be going through some fashion struggles behind the scenes.

According to fashion expert Giorgina Ramazzotti for Daily Mail, Markle’s fashion over the years shows a pattern. “It can be noted that Meghan rarely wears big designer brands such as the French fashion houses Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Saint Laurent etc,” Ramazzotti noted. In fact, Markle wears outfits from renowned yet less high-end brands like Staud, Johanna Ortiz, Heidi Merrick and Carolina Herrera.

With that said, it seems there’s a reason for it. “These brands are very careful with their image and getting loans from them for lesser or controversial stars (as Meghan, in some circles, now is) is like getting blood from a stone,” Ramazzotti said.

Ramazzotti also broke down how getting clothes usually works for a celebrity. “Often items are given as gifts, given on loan for special events, or the star is given a heavy discount to shop the brand, and whilst Meghan wasn’t a well-known actress before meeting Prince Harry, she would still have been given freebies – albeit from smaller brands,” she explained.

“When she joined the royals, she quickly found out that loans and gifts from designers were forbidden, and the star was no doubt given an allowance to dress – something I’m sure she was glad to throw out of the window when she left the royal fold,” she continued.

But as she continues to make a name for herself post-royal life, it seems Markle still might be struggling to gain the trust of big brands. Either way, we think she’s very much making it work (and inspiring us in the meantime). Perhaps her new lifestyle show will really put her on the map? We’ll monitor her style to see!
