BELLAIRE — The third annual Bellaire Business Bash has been rescheduled to Aug. 16.

The event — initially planned for today — was postponed due to the potential for severe weather today.

“We looked at several factors,” alliance Secretary/Treasure Sheri McAninch said. “There is supposed to be very high humidity as well as a very high chance of heavy rain and storms with the possibility of significant wind gusts.”

The National Weather Service is predicting rain early today, followed by scattered thunderstorms with gusty winds and small hail possible. The chance of rain is 60% with an anticipated high temperature of 83 degrees Fahrenheit.

The bash will still take place at the historic Union Square Park. The Bellaire Business Alliance’s goal is to have cars lined up along the entire length of Belmont Street.

“We didn’t want to take any chances and wanted to inform people as early as possible,” McAninch added.

McAninch took to social media to post the official postponement on Thursday afternoon in an attempt to get the word out to as many people as possible.

Registration for the cars, trucks and motorcycles participating on the new date will still take place on 36th Street and will begin at 3 p.m.

Due to the rain delay, the Bellaire Business Alliance will continue to accept pre-registration for anyone interested. To pre-register for the car show, call Rick Eden at 304-215-0185.

The car show will begin at 5 p.m. with awards being distributed at 8 p.m. Music will still be provided by Taylor Jo and the Copper Creek Band and D.J. Bobbi Bandoni.

“The committee felt this was the best route to take and ultimately make the car show more enjoyable for everyone involved,” McAninch said.

As well as the many local bars and restaurants being opened to serve attendees of the bash, the Designated Outdoor Refreshment Areas, aka DORA, will also be in effect for the new date.

Sponsors for the bash are B&R Auto Repair, Denny’s Blue Angel, Belmont Savings Bank, Terriann Bonfini with Mary Kay, Vivid Graphix, All American Restaurant, Dvorak & Sons, VFW Post 626, Gulla’s, Chirp’s Auto Body, The Holistic Cloud, Sons of Italy Lodge 754, Favor Fresh Detailing LLC, JR Investments and Colerain Golf Car Sales.
