Celebrate National Wellness Month With These Travel Experiences
Celebrated each August by hospitality destinations throughout the world, National Wellness Month affords travelers the opportunity to experience a wide variety of healthy activities. These can include group yoga classes, pickleball lessons, individual weight training, nutritional guidance, hiking and much more.
According to Anne Dimon, owner/editor of Travel to Wellness and President/CEO of the Wellness Tourism Association, the keys to traveling with a wellness purpose are for the traveler to clearly identify individual wellness intentions, motivations and ultimate goals. Is the trip, for instance, to maintain a healthy lifestyle or to make healthier food choices or developing a sustainable fitness routine? Should the purpose be to kick-start a healthy lifestyle?
Dimon says, “Another key is to make sure the destination has the necessary staff and facilities to help travelers accomplish their goals. Perhaps it’s spending time in nature, being in a group of like-minded, participating in a much-loved activity along with other options that might help the traveler reach their identified goals or support or increase a sense of wellbeing. Doing what it takes prior to the trip to identify and quell any potential stress or anxieties might also fall under the umbrella of keys.”
The following hospitality destinations offer travelers many healthy choices.
