NFL Countdown: One NFL Futures Bet A Day – Day Three

Baltimore Ravens AFC North Division Winner (+145 on FanDuel)

For the NFL Futures bet today we’re adding in a little variety as far as bet type and look towards a division winner. I actually like parlaying division winners for bigger payouts when I have a good feeling about it. More on that later in the month. For our third day of futures bets, I’m going to turn my attention towards the Baltimore Ravens. This is one of my favorite bets for futures that I’ve gotten down on in my own portfolio. It’s +145 on multiple books.

The Ravens finished with the best record in the NFL last year—not just in their division but in the entire league. They did it with one of the league’s best defenses and a solid offense. The biggest change to this Ravens team is the addition of Derrick Henry.

Sure, Henry is getting older. However, Henry is still a game-changing, hard-thumping running back who is going to add a level of running style that this Ravens team has been looking for.

I won’t argue that losing Patrick Queen is a big hit. He’s an irreplaceable player. However, they did keep Kyle Van Noy, who isn’t a slouch. Van Noy has proven production and will continue to help a defense that has playmakers all across the board. The Ravens also retained their top-five defensive linemen.

The continuity of keeping all the same players there will go a long way to helping guys like Van Noy and Roquan Smith continue to make plays. One other veteran addition that shouldn’t be overlooked is the recent signing of Eddie Jackson. While he’s now in his thirties, Jackson is still a smart safety who brings a great veteran presence.

Who Stands in Their Way?

I know everybody wants to make a case for the Bengals and Joe Burrow. They are the biggest threat to the Ravens. I think their run game takes a step back this year, making life just a little bit harder for Burrow. Burrow’s health is hard to trust, and his receivers aren’t currently happy with their contracts. The Ravens will win the division again.
