Mondo Duplantis sets Olympic and world record, wins gold

PARIS (WAFB) – Former LSU pole vaulter Mondo Duplantis has won his second Olympic gold medal and has also set more than one record.

Duplantis cleared the high of 6.10 meters at the Paris games on Monday, August 5. It’s a new Olympic men’s pole vault record. He also set his ninth world record.

According to LSU, Duplantis has tied Bob Richards for the most pole vaulting gold medals in Olympic history.

Duplantis is competing at the Olympics for Sweden.

Duplantis has a long list of accomplishments, including a gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic games. He is also a world record holder, a 2021 European indoor champion, and a Swedish National Record Holder.
