Schofield teen becomes youngest champ at Lumberjack World Championship

HAYWARD, Wis. (WSAW) – A 17-year-old from Schofield has become the youngest competitor to win the title of log rolling champion in the history of Lumberjack World Championship.

The 64th annual Lumberjack World Championship was held over the weekend in Schofield.

Marcus Heineck began log rolling at 11 years old through the YMCA in Weston.

According to a media release, Heineck delivered an amazing performance in log rolling, displaying a combination of speed, agility, and technique that left spectators and fellow competitors in awe. He is currently a member of the Wisconsin River Rollers in Wausau.
