11 Sports one-on-one with Broncos cornerback Riley Moss

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – DAY 12 OF BRONCOS TRAINING CAMP AND ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT POSITION BATTLES IS AT THAT SECOND cornerback spot. We’re joined by Riley Moss, who is currently competing for that spot. Riley, you’re healthy this camp. How are you feeling like you are competing during this camp battle?

I’m doing everything I can, day in, day out. The biggest thing is staying consistent. That’s the exciting thing bout the position battle is that it brings the best out of all of the guys who are competing, and that is exciting.

And just coming from Iowa, where you were playing a lot of cover-two, cover-four, looking at the quarterback. Now you’re playing some man coverage as well. How has the transition to the NFL been.

Obviously we’re in a lot more match here at the Broncos. I think that was the biggest learning curve last year was just my eye-placement and where to put them and I’ve gotten a lot better through the spring and then this fall too and I think that’s probably the biggest improvement to my game.

What skillset do you feel like you’re bringing them most to this team, is it your playmaking ability? As a cornerback is it your length? Is it all of those?

You know, just being an athlete, going out there and not overthinking and just playing football I think that’s the biggest thing. The only thing stopping me is me. Ultimately and I think the biggest thing for me is going out there with a clear mind and being the athlete that I am.

Is there a little rivalry with you and Cooper (DeJean) to see who starts first?

No, there’s not. It’s always fun and I’m excited for him and we’ll see who goes first but at the end of the day I am happy for him. Two kids from Iowa making it to the league, it’s exciting.

Final question for you . You kind of changed up your look the last few days. You had a little mustache going, do you think it gives you a bit of a power-up?

It’s one of those things that makes it aerodynamic. It’s less facial hair on the side, its right here so its kind of like a spoiler like a sports car. You’re going through the wind a lot faster, so I feel like I play a lot faster with the stache.

You’re going to have to shave soon?

Yeah I got to clean it up and make sure we’re dialed up for Indy.

Alright Riley, appreciate you, Thank you for joining us. Sending it back to you Jess.
