Large police presence at Scottsdale shopping center due to shooting

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — A large police presence is at a south Scottsdale shopping center because of a shooting, police said.

It happened Tuesday evening just before 6 p.m. near Scottsdale and Thomas roads.

Details about the incident are limited and investigators haven’t released what led up to the shooting.

Aerials from Arizona’s Family news chopper showed undercover law enforcement trucks near the Einstein Bros. Bagels shop.

It appears first responders helped a victim in the parking lot in front of the Great Clips as debris was scattered in a parking space.

Scottsdale police officers were also spotted behind the Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic on Thomas Road.

Police say there is no threat to the public.

Officers are asking people to avoid the area as they investigate.
