NSYNC Charts One Of The Hottest Songs In The World–In 2024
It’s 2024, and NSYNC claims one of the biggest songs in the world. That’s an odd sentence, and one that few could have predicted would be true–including the largely defunct boy band–and yet, that’s the case.
NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye” is hugely popular once again, following its use in the No. 1 movie in the world. The pop smash is featured in Deadpool & Wolverine, which is shattering records and quickly becoming one of the top films of the year.
As a result, millions of people all around the world have revisited “Bye Bye Bye,” as the movie reminded them how much they love the single. It’s also likely that some younger viewers might be discovering the song–or perhaps just falling for it–for the first time.
“Bye Bye Bye” debuts on both of Billboard’s worldwide rankings this week. It opens at No. 18 on the Billboard Global 200 and No. 16 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Both tallies use a methodology that includes streams and sales, though the latter roster excludes all information from the United States.
NSYNC earns another hit on the Billboard Global 200 as “Bye Bye Bye” arrives. The song manages to bring them to a new high point on the list of the most-consumed tracks in the world. Before this frame, they’d only reached the upper half on the tally once, as “Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays” rose as high as No. 97.
The Grammy-nominated vocal troupe has now earned three total wins on the Billboard Global 200. In addition to “Bye Bye Bye” and their holiday smash, 2023’s “Better Place” also reached the list. That track, which was created for the latest movie in the Trolls franchise, only climbed as high as No. 128, and it managed just one frame on the roster.
“Bye Bye Bye” marks NSYNC’s first hit on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Decades after they first became worldwide superstars, and more than 20 years after they split, the group is still reaching Billboard charts for the first time, which not all boy bands can claim.
