Will Amazon have a 2nd Prime Day in 2024? Here’s what we know so far

Prime Day is Amazon’s biggest sales event of the year, and we might get to see it twice this year.

Amazon held its first Prime Day 2024 this July and in past years, a second Prime Day (under a different name) was also rolled out in October. These two mega sales offer Prime members some of the best markdowns of the year on Amazon with two opportunities to save big.

During Prime Day 2024, we found mega discounts on electronics, home goods, kitchen appliances, beauty products, fashion and more. These deals extended across Amazon’s extensive marketplace and were also available on top finds before Prime Day’s actual kickoff on July 16.

While Amazon hasn’t publicly announced that it will hold a second Prime Day in 2024, we think there’s a strong possibility it will. Here’s what we know so far.

Will Amazon have a 2nd Prime Day sale in 2024?

Amazon held two Prime Days in 2022 and again in 2023. These second Prime Day events were held in October both years, with last year’s sale running October 10-11.

Last year, Amazon announced that it was holding a second Prime Day in early August releasing the official dates of the massive two-day sale later in September. The second Prime Day has gone by two names so far, it was called Prime Big Deals Days in 2023, and Prime Early Access Sale in 2022.

Based on previous years and the success of Amazon’s Prime Day 2024 in July, we expect Amazon to reveal a second Prime Day this year too. We estimate that this sale will be held around October 15-16 or 22-23.

Both of these potential dates lead up to Black Friday and offer Prime members an early start to their holiday shopping, which Amazon mentioned in 2023 as the reason for a second sale.

Do you need to be a Prime member to shop on Amazon Prime Day?

Amazon Prime Day typically offers exclusive deals only for Prime members during Prime Day. To take advantage of these deep discounts, you need to have an active Prime membership, which costs $14.99 a month or $139 a year.

With a Prime membership, you’ll also receive added perks such as free shipping, Prime Video streaming, Amazon Music, Grubhub+ membership, pharmacy discounts and much more.

Amazon offers a 30-day trial of Prime, so you can try the service out first. However, this trial option is not always available during Prime Day events.

What are the best deals for shopping during Amazon Prime Day?
