Fortuna concert

The Fortuna Concert Series will present the SoHum Girls Saturday at the Fortuna Monday Club, 610 Main St., Fortuna.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door for $15.

SoHum Girls is made up of local musicians who have been a part of the Humboldt County music scene for many years. The group will perform all original music with uplifting and often humorous themes. Members of the group include Julie Froblom, saxophone, flute, and vocals; Marla Joy, bass and vocals; Chris Manspeaker, guitar; Marcia Mendels, keyboard and vocals; Bill Moehnke, drums and vocals; and Brigette Marie Terry, vocals.

Music showcase

The Humboldt County Music Showcase is scheduled for Aug. 23 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at the Historic Eagle House, Second and C streets in Eureka.
Four bands from this year’s Humboldt County Music Showcase — The Critics, Barking Dogma, Good Time Charlies and Red Hot Shame — will perform. Doors open at 6 p.m. and there is no charge to attend. For more information, call 707-444-3344.

Musical road trip

Take a musical road trip with Route 66 — featuring Joani Rose, Jim Wilde, Francis Vanek and Michael Curran — on Aug. 24 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Gyppo Ale Mill, 1661 Upper Pacific Drive, Shelter Cove. There is no fee to attend.

These musicians have been jamming together for years, playing blues, rock and a touch of country.

Music festival

Four-day All Event and Prime Time tickets to the 32nd annual Redwood Coast Music Festival are on sale at all branches of Redwood Capital Bank in Eureka, Arcata and Fortuna.

Prime Time tickets are for Friday or Saturday evenings only from 5 p.m. to closing. Single-Day and Kick-Off Dance festival tickets can be purchased at rcmfest.org.

This year’s festival will be Oct. 3 to 6 in seven venues throughout downtown and Old Town Eureka. The Kick-Off Dance is Oct. 3 at the Adorni Center in Eureka. Doors open at 6 p.m. for that event with music from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m.
