Thomasville Entertainment puts Vienna Boys Choir concert on waiting list status
Due to very strong response to its 87th Concert Series, Thomasville Entertainment Foundation of Thomasville, Georgia, is no longer able to offer season ticket subscriptions for its Complete or Variations Series, and the Vienna Boys Choir’s “Christmas in Vienna” performance now has a waiting list.
Season tickets are still available for TEF’s Classics Series, and single tickets for the remaining five concerts will go on sale to the public beginning Aug. 26.
“This is a great problem to have, and we always hate to turn anyone away,” explained TEF Executive & Artistic Director Rick Ivey. “But the response from both our renewing season ticket holders and new subscribers has been very enthusiastic, and seating has gotten very tight.”
Opening the season on Sept. 24 will be an evening with two-time Tony Award-winning Broadway leading man Brian Stokes Mitchell, followed by the acclaimed international piano trio, Trio Con Brio Copenhagen, on Oct. 15.
Dec. 17 brings the beloved Vienna Boys Choir to the TEF stage, and the all-male a cappella vocal ensemble New York Polyphony plans a Jan. 23 program of ancient and modern music.
On Feb. 18, jazz trumpeter and vocalist Byron Stripling’s jazz quartet offers an evening of New Orleans Mardi Gras music, and TEF’s performance series wraps up Mar. 11 with a unique pairing of the renowned Escher String Quartet with classical guitarist Jason Vieaux.
