WATCH: Guardiola on fitness of Haaland and De Bruyne ahead of FA Cup semi-final
Pep Guardiola says he is unsure whether Erling Haaland will be able to feature against Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final.
The striker was taken off in extra time of Man City’s penalty shoot-out defeat to Real Madrid in midweek as the reigning champions were knocked out of the Champions League.
Kevin De Bruyne was also subbed off towards the end of extra time but Guardiola says he is hopeful the midfielder can be involved, though is waiting to see on Haaland.
“Kevin feels well, Erling we will see,” Guardiola said.
“It was a tough game, 120 minutes, high intensity football for both sides.
“He felt something, a muscular issue, that’s why he could not continue and Kevin in the last minutes as well felt exhausted and tired.
“After what happened, five months injured, that is normal. But we will see tomorrow.
Pushed on what the issue with Haaland is, the Man City boss added: “The doctor says it is a niggle and we will see the evolution in the next hours.”
