Ozark National Scenic Riverways (ONSR) will host a workshop about preparing resumes for federal government job openings from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 19 at the United Methodist Church hall at 18228 Church St. in Eminence.

A resume for a federal job often requires more information and detail than is required for a typical resume.

Administrative specialists will offer guidance and tips for creating a federal resume that includes all the essential information needed to successfully compete for a federal job. They’ll provide resources to help determine the best information to include when describing skills and experience gained through prior employment and volunteer positions. The workshop will also include an overview of the USAJOBS website, which is the federal government’s official jobs site.

Attendees can bring a copy of their current resume for review and suggestions. Officials said now is great time to update a resume for positions at ONSR, especially if interested in summer employment for 2025.  Summer job announcements typically open between September and January.

Summer seasonal jobs are a great avenue to becoming a permanent federal employee, officials said.  Here are upcoming job announcements for ONSR:

•Recreation Fee Clerk on Sept. 9

•Park Guides and Interpretive Park Rangers on Oct. 21

•Visitor Services Assistants on Dec. 16

Anyone with questions about the workshop or federal resumes can contact Chief of Administration Stacey Griffin at 573-323-4905, Human Resources Liaison Sandy Williamson at 573-323-4884 or Administrative Assistant Emily Sellinger at 573-323-4805.
