One Futures Bet A Day For NFL Countdown: Can CeeDee Lamb Get In The 1750 Club?
Ceedee lamb over 1750 yards (+400 on draft kings)
I know at the Sports Gambling Podcast you’re used to seeing and hearing only Cowboys’ slander. However, this NFL futures bet is actually pro-Cowboys. Under the NFL section, you can navigate to “Team Specials”. The team this bet is focusing on is obviously the Dallas Cowboys. It reads, “CeeDee Lamb to have 1750+ receiving yards in the regular season” at +400.
Tough For Wide Receivers to Reach
It’s hard to get to over 1750 receiving yards. In fact, only eight receivers have done it. They were Tyreek Hill, Justin Jefferson, Cooper Kupp, Antonio Brown, Julio Jones, Calvin Johnson, Isaac Bruce, and Jerry Rice. This would be an impressive company to join. Although Lamb is an impressive player. He fell just short of this number last year with 1749.
Despite his contract situation, I expect Lamb to suit up for the Cowboys. While Jerry Jones doesn’t seem to weigh in on it, and Lamb is laughing on social media, the Cowboys do these things a little last minute at times. Lamb’s over/under receiving number is set right at 1400, which seems fair. However, he had 1750 last year, and the Cowboys may need to pass more this year.
The offensive line is going to be downgraded from last year. The run game will also be downgraded. Reports right now are saying Zeke is the RB1, but that Rico Dowdle may outpace him in yards. I don’t feel comfortable with a run game relying on Rico Dowdle. Therefore, the Cowboys may need to pass it even more often. Regardless of what you think of the Cowboys, Lamb’s talent is undeniable.
Last year, Lamb accounted for 31% of the target share. Even when teams knew he was getting the ball, they couldn’t slow him down. With more passing, I honestly wouldn’t be surprised to see that number go up. His receiving competition is the likes of Brandin Cooks, Jake Ferguson, and Jalen Tolbert. Lamb should eat in this offense, and taking a stab at him to get over the 1750 mark at +400 feels worth it.
