Man detained without bond after shooting inside Maryland’s LA Fitness gym

A man was shot inside an LA Fitness in Glenarden, Maryland, last week. The man responsible is now held without bond, announced Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Aisha Braveboy in a press release.

On April 11, at around 8:30 p.m., police said they responded to the 9400 block of Ruby Lockhart Boulevard in Glenarden, Maryland for reports of a shooting inside an LA Fitness gym. When they arrived, they said they saw a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said that 24-year-old Nelson Ballard of Washington, D.C. shot the man six times after a basketball game.

On April 17, Ballard was taken into custody. A couple of days later, on Friday, State’s Attorney Aisha Braveboy announced that Ballard was being held without bond.
