‘Escape From Tarkov’ Wipe Likely Coming This Week After New Event

The second pre wipe event in Escape From Tarkov has launched and seems to have removed the flea market, suggesting that the next wipe is just a few days away.

The new event, which was teased on the Escape From Tarkov social media accounts earlier today before being launched, removes access to the flea market, the player to player sales hub, and there is talk of some rare loot spawns being increased, although this is yet to be officially confirmed.

In the teaser image, a box full of Ledx can be seen, which would suggest the event has something to do with rare loot, but when I did a test run on Customs I didn’t notice anything different in regard to loot spawns. However, some players are reporting that loot spawns on Labs and in some marked rooms have been improved, giving a lot of top tier loot. But with no flea market to sell them on, a lot of it could be fairly useless.

Of course, the previous event from yesterday is also still in effect, with all hideout upgrades being craftable for just beer and increased skill levelling. But the same restriction applies, with the event running only in the PvP version of the game and not the PvE version.

With this event launching just 24 hours after the previous one, the current theory is that the next Escape From Tarkov wipe will launch on August 15, giving time for one more event tomorrow before the wipe arrives. It is expected that the fire sale event will take place tomorrow, where all items from traders will cost one Rouble, and then the game will go offline on August 15 while the new Tarkov wipe and patch is installed. Of course there is no guarantee of this until Battlestate Games makes an official announcement, but right now all signs point to the next Tarkov wipe launching on August 15.

When the new wipe does arrive it will bring with it a lot of new toys for all players. There’s new weapons, including the recently revealed Deagle, a reworked Factory map and likely a new boss who will hunt you down and has tripwires in his arsenal. As with all wipes your progress will be reset and all your inventory destroyed, but everyone will be in the same boat so it’s an even playing field. If you are in the PvE mode your account will not be wiped, but the new content will still be added.
