PREVIEW: Women’s Golf Travels to Amherst – University of Hartford Athletics

The University of Hartford women’s golf team is preparing for their final tournament of the spring season. They are journeying to South Hadley, Mass. for the prestigious two-day Jack Leaman Invitational, hosted by Amherst College.     

DATE: Saturday, April 20th – Sunday, April 21st    

COURSE: The Orchards Golf Club   

LOCATION: South Hadley, Mass.   

PAR/YARDAGE: 72/5638    

COMPETING TEAMS: Alvernia, Amherst, Babson, Bates, Bowdoin, Christopher Newport, Cortland, Hamilton, Lafayette (individual only), Middlebury, NYU, Trinity, Vassar, Wellesley, Wesleyan, Williams   

HARTFORD QUICK HITS     

  • Senior Madeline Adam has consistently led the Hawks, demonstrating her prowess in four tournaments, including the recent Sacred Heart Spring Invitational, where she tied for 13th place. Adam’s impressive record includes carding par or better 146 times in 18 rounds.   

  • Junior Grace Farland has led the Hawks in their last two tournaments, tying for eighth place in the Hartford Hawks Spring Invitational alongside junior Lilly Moreau. Farland tied for 34th out of 83 golfers in the Fairleigh Dickinson, carding a 17-over 161.   

  • Moreau has placed in the top 10 three times this season, while Farland has placed in the top 10 twice and has carded par or better 66 times.   

  • Senior Sofia Rodas went 31-over 175 for 29th place in the Hartford Hawks Spring Invitational. Rodas has placed top-25 twice, while carding par or better 47 times.   

  • Graduate student Teagan Devoe recorded a 32-over 176 in the Hawks’ last tournament. Devoe has carded par or better 16 times throughout five rounds.
