Louisville furniture store closes doors after more than 150 years in business
A Louisville furniture store is closing after more than 150 years in business.
Burdorf Interiors announced on Aug. 2 that it’s shutting its doors in Middletown indefinitely due to “several ongoing factors,” most notably the loss of Allan Morris, the owner and company leader, in 2020.
“Allan Morris led this company for almost 30 years, and it isn’t the same without him,” the Facebook post stated. “We would like to thank all of our customers and patrons for an incredible run, and a ton of great memories and milestones in this business.”
Burdorf Interiors opened in 1867 and was purchased by the current owners in 1993 and said Saturday was the last day of general operations at 401 N. English Station Road.
The business will remain open until all custom orders are completed and current inventory has been sold with delivery and pick-up options available.
