CBP seizes $6.5M in meth at World Trade Bridge
LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the World Trade Bridge seized hard drugs worth over $6.5 million.
The seizure happened on Friday, August 9. A CBP officer stopped a 2023 Freightliner truck carrying a refrigerated trailer with a shipment of flowers for a closer inspection. After using a canine and other inspection tools, officers found 712.54 pounds of suspected methamphetamine hidden inside the shipment.
The drugs have an estimated street value of $6,551,910. CBP has taken the drugs, and Homeland Security Investigations agents are looking into the case.
