‘Escape From Tarkov’ Wipe And 0.15 Patch Release Date Revealed

The release date for the next Escape From Tarkov wipe has been announced, with the update arriving on August 20 2024.

The wipe and 0.15 patch will launch on August 20th, with the promised Twitch Drops campaign then starting on August 23. Weirdly, the wipe announcement was hidden in a blog post for the Twitch Drops campaign.

Many fans will likely be disappointed by the delayed release date, given most signs pointed to the wipe launching tomorrow. Now we know we have to wait a few more days before getting hands on with it.

A new trailer for Escape From Tarkov has also been released and it shows off a lot of the new content that is coming as part of the next wipe and patch.

The trailer, which shows off the 0.15 patch and upcoming wipe, runs for about two and a half minutes and shows off a lot of new additions to the game, including a first in game glimpse of the new boss, Partisan. He is shown right at the end of the trailer, stalking a group of PMCs, while earlier on the trip wire grenades that he will likely have were also shown off. Based on one of the animations shown in the trailer, it looks like PMCs may also be able to use these trip wires as well, which could be an easy way to take down some unsuspecting foes.

A lot of the action in the trailer was on the reworked factory map, which we got a first proper glimpse at despite it already being playable at TwitchCon weeks ago. The map looks a lot cleaner, with some reworked sight lines and more reliable cover. We also know from those who have played it that the tunnels under the map and the rafters above it have also been expanded.

There’s also a look at a lot of the new guns coming with the wipe, with the epic M60 machine gun being shown off in action for the first real time, and it appears to shred through players. There also seemed to be some other new, or at least remodelled weapons in the trailer as well.

While not confirmed, the trailer seemed to have some improved lighting in some areas. This could just have been visual effects in the trailer, but we have been told that graphical improvements are coming soon to Tarkov so an overhaul to the lighting in Tarkov could also be coming with this wipe.

There was also a couple of shots on the ground zero map, which suggests it too could be in line for some changes. There wasn’t anything immediately obvious, but it seems a strange map to include if there are no changes coming.
