Metro East to get golf driving range entertainment complex

The Metro East is getting its own high-tech driving range complex. Park North Golf Club, a golf-themed entertainment complex, is set to break ground next week and will become an anchor tenant of the 95-acre Park North complex.

The venue will feature a 40-bay driving range, an outdoor 18-hole mini-golf course, a restaurant and sports bar, large outdoor patios and seating, entertainment venues and rental event spaces. Park North Golf Club will be located near Edwardsville’s Plummer Family Park at the southwest corner of Interstate 55 and Illinois 143.

“The growth and popularity of Edwardsville is undeniable, as is the St. Louis area’s passion for sports, food, and entertainment,” managing partner Bob Timmermann said in a statement. “The concept of the Club is to provide an affordable, local, family-friendly, golf-inspired destination.”

Similar to driving ranges like TopGolf, the bays at Park North Golf Club will be climate controlled and offer space for up to six players, plus a full-service menu. The bays will be equipped with ball tracking and game-play technology and high-definition video displays.

The complex’s restaurant and sports bar, Scotty’s, is a nod to the Scottish roots of golf and local executive chef Scott Oglesby, and will offer a locally-menu, beer and cocktails.

Construction of the nearly 12-acre complex is set to complete summer 2025. It’s being built by local construction company Plocher Construction and is expected to employ up 100 workers once finished.
