This Discount European Airline Just Unveiled an Unlimited Flight Pass — Here Are the Details
If the end of summer has you craving more vacation time, a new offer could be just the ticket.
Wizz Air, based in Budapest, recently announced an “All You Can Fly” subscription pass that allows travelers to journey throughout the world for just a few hundred dollars.
For a very limited time, the program is only €499 (approximately $537) per year, and the price jumps to €599 (approximately $657) from August 16, 2024. Travelers can begin using their flight pass for flights after September 25, 2024. While the program has the subscription fee, the flights are technically not free. Travelers are charged a small €10 (approximately $11) fee for each flight segment they book, according to the program’s terms.
The airline shared they have capped the amount of memberships they will sell at 10,000 for the initial phase.
Best of all, the flight pass is valid for any flight within Wizz’s network. The most popular destinations on Wizz include Athens, Barcelona, Budapest, Crete, Dubai, Krakow, Lisbon, Prague, Rome, and Sicily, according to the airline’s website.
For travelers looking for a more official trip the airline also offers “Wizz Subscription Multipass” for various countries which provides one flight per month on all routes from a particular country. For example, people based in the United Kingdom can book the UK Pass for €64.99 a month, which provides one flight from an international route that starts in the UK. The flights require at least five days advance notice, and a minimum commitment of 12 months.
Wizz Air recently celebrated 20 years of business and is known for offering low-cost flights with bare-bones service. The airline allows for a single personal item (backpack or purse) for free, but charges extra for carry-on suitcase, or checked bag.
The concept of “All You Can Fly Passes” have gained popularity among low-cost carriers both in the United States, and now around the world. For example, Frontier Airlines offers the “Go Wild!” pass which provides unlimited flights on the airline’s network for a subscription fee.
