Major bowling championship attracts bowlers from around the world to Sioux Falls
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Some of the best bowlers from around the globe are in Sioux Falls this weekend for the Farmer’s Union Insurance Midwest Open Championship.
The championship brings together some of the best in the bowling world to Eastway Bowl for a three-day tournament.
“We have a big bowling community here in Sioux Falls. Lots of tournaments, lots of league bowlers. It just means a lot for these guys to bowl with these tour pros,” said Sioux Falls PBA bowler Jeff Campbell.
We are trying to pull in those non-bowlers and those family members. A 5-year-old or 6-year-old that’s watching this tonight or can watch it on TV is interested in getting into joining a league here in Sioux Falls,” said Director of Events Shelley Carroll.
The tournament resumes on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. and championships wrap up at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday night.
