Inveraray & District Pipe Band became Grade 1 World Champions for the third time on August 17, 2024, with St Laurence O’Toole winning the Grade 1 Drumming. Today’s Grade 1 result also crowns Inveraray & District Champion of Champions for drumming and overall for 2024.

Until the Worlds, the four majors in 2024 had been won by St Laurence O’Toole (UK Champs), Peoples Ford Boghall & Bathgate (British), Inveraray & District (Scottish) and Field Marshal Montgomery (Europeans), and these four bands almost dominated the top four positions at the Worlds across the two events on Friday and the two on Saturday. But the inclusion of Simon Fraser University spoiled the top four’s domination, as SFU had strong results on Friday and finished in third place overall. The other band to challenge the top four was Police Scotland Fife, led by Pipe Major David Wilton, as they finished in fourth place in both the MSR and Medley on Saturday, giving them a sixth place finish overall. The full results are below.
