Hollywood actor talks G-Unit Studios and the entertainment industry

SHREVEPORT, La.–  With events like the Humor & Harmony Festival, all eyes were on Shreveport and established actors from Hollywood are now interested in the southern boot. One of those is Robert Ri’chard.

For many, he is a familiar face. Ri’chard is known for starring on two TV shows.

“I’ve been in the industry for 29 years now. The things that I think you would probably associate quickly are ‘My Cousin Skeeter,’ which is on Nickelodeon, and ‘One on One’ is my show on CW. I’ve worked with User, Forest Whitaker, and Samuel Jackson and all of these great lovely actors. And now I’m in this sort of time period where I’m the leading man and carrying the projects. It’s getting bigger and better and I’m really here for it,” said Ri’chard.

The child actor is still in the industry. Recently, he was featured in Tubi’s “Vicious Affair” and BET Plus “RSVP.”  He’s currently working on another film.

”You got to entertain folks at home.  So you’ve got action movies, rom-coms and dramas and thrillers, suspense. And obviously the worst, the horrors. So we’re here on the set of  “Demon King’s: Last Demon Revenge of the two partners.  And  it’s a spectacular movie. It’s got a great cast and crew is  fantastic, and I love to be a part of it,” said Ri’chard.

But that’s not the only thing Ri’chard is excited about. With G-Unit Studio’s now being in Shreveport, Ri’chard has an eye for our community. He says he is inspired by the music mogul, 50 Cent, and all of the things he’s accomplished so far.

“I got to get down there with Curtis and get something on Wax.  To have someone like Curtis, or 50 Cent, to go down and go back to a great state and bring new talent I think it’s magnificent. I haven’t had a chance to work with 50 yet, but I’m really proud of what he was able to accomplish. He’s another black man in real estate, so I love that,” said Ri’chard.

Ri’chard believes the entertainment industry is changing. With G-Unit studios moving to Shreveport, there will be more opportunities for those who are seeking to act or even sing.

“The entertainment industry as a whole is expanding. It used to be that everything had to be In California, Los Angeles. But now people are in Georgia, people are in Louisiana, people are in New Mexico and Texas,” Ri’chard said.

G-Unit Studios is set to start scripted and non scripted content in January.
