Lincoln Children’s Business Fair promotes youth entrepreneurship

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – You’re never too young to start a business, and Acton Academy is determined to support the newest generation of entrepreneurs through their annual children’s business fair.

Saturday was the fourth year of the event, where kids ages five to 16 had the chance to create a business, research costs and other factors and ultimately sell their service or product.

Acton Academy accepted 70 businesses this year for the fair, from face painting to homemade goodies. Kids were able to gain insight on what it’s like to engage with customers and promote their booth.

”Everyone here completed an application where they had to answer some questions on how much your products are gonna cost you to make, what are you gonna sell them for, how are you gonna market your business,” said Zach Harsin, co-founder of Acton Academy. “And then from there we accepted those businesses.”

Acton Academy said this year had the most participating businesses, and they hope to have even more next year.
