Planet Fitness upgrades Laurel location with more than $905K in improvements
Planet Fitness, a national operator of fitness centers, Tuesday announced it has completed more than $905,000 in renovations at its Laurel location.
The 21,000-square-foot club at 9644 Fort Meade Road, originally opened in November 2013 by Ohana Growth Partners LLC, recently underwent the eight-week renovation project to upgrade its Black Card Spa area and additional improvements include new televisions, interior and exterior signage, lobby and Black Card Spa tiles, rubber flooring, wallcovering and paint throughout.
Planet Fitness Laurel features cardiovascular machines and strength equipment, a 30-Minute Express Circuit, locker rooms with day lockers and showers.
Founded in 1992 in Dover, New Hampshire, Planet Fitness had approximately 19.7 million members and 2,617 stores nationwide, including the District of Columbia, as well as Puerto Rico, Canada, Panama, Mexico and Australia, as of June 30.
Ohana Growth Partners, a franchise division of Planet Fitness, owns and operates 78 Planet Fitness health clubs with more than 550,000 members in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Tennessee, Florida, Washington and California. It also is a joint venture partner with six clubs in Australia.
