Tottenham player set to have scan, advisor says – Fitness worries are ‘haunting’ him – Sport Witness
Tottenham’s Rodrigo Bentancur is set to undergo a scan after going off in the clash with Leicester City with a head injury.
That’s according to his advisor Daniel Fernández, relayed by Buysan, who says caution is still being taken with the Uruguayan at this stage.
Bentancur started the clash with Leicester City on Monday but was stretchered off in worrying scenes after suffering a nasty head injury during a Tottenham corner.
He had gone down after a clash of heads had seemed to leave him unconscious. Medics were ushered onto the pitch quickly and he received lengthy treatment in the Leicester penalty box before being removed.
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou confirmed his status after the game, stating Bentancur was up and talking and would be looked after by his medical team.
Now Fernández has confirmed he’s set for further scans to assess the injury, which is the latest in a growing list of problems for him over the last 18 months.
“These negative situations have been haunting him,” Buysan report him saying to Sport 100%.
“They are going to do a preventive scan, but he is stable. At that same stage he injured his knee in 2023.”
