Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 Release Date Announced, Gameplay Trailer Revealed | gamescom 2024 – IGN

Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 appeared during Opening Night Live to help kick off gamescom 2024 with a first-look gameplay trailer and a release date.

Firaxis’ strategy sequel launches February 11, 2025 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, with the deluxe edition including five days of early access (what amounts to an effective release date of February 6).

Based on the new trailer, Civilization 7 features a more grounded art style than the divisive Civilization 6 look. We loved Civilization 6 when it came out back in 2016, saying it would “go down in history as the most fully-featured launch version in the series.” Though the series has changed leadership hands a number of times over the years, it remains beloved and successful. In fact, the first human equipped with a Neuralink brain implant apparently stayed up all night playing Civilization 6 with the technology.
