Clemson MBA Program announces AI in Business certificate
The Clemson MBA Program is proud to announce the launch of the MBA Executive Board Learning Series this fall. This series aims to expand Clemson’s impact on professional education in the Greenville community with low-cost micro-certificates that address current trends in business.
The MBA Executive Board Learning Series is a condensed certificate program presented by the Phyfer Innovation Hub that offers opportunities for working professionals to engage in professional development.
The first installment of the series will explore the topic of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Business. The curriculum is designed and led by Joe Gibson who teaches marketing and entrepreneurship in Clemson’s MBA program and has an extensive background working in the corporate world and startup companies.
Classes will meet every Monday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Greenville ONE campus beginning on October 7th for a total of four weeks. Each weekly session will explore AI’s growing use in various business areas with featured guest speakers throughout the four-week program to discuss how their companies use AI and its impact in their respective industries.
“The Learning Series will serve as a supercharged additive to what working professionals already possess in their existing degrees,” says MBA Executive Board Chair Brian Stearns ’17. “These deep dives will allow professionals to make an immediate impact in their current roles or help a candidate stand out in interviews.”
“The Clemson MBA Program is excited to be at the forefront of the next evolution of business innovation,” says Greg Pickett, PhD., Director of the MBA Program. “Just like the impact of the internet and social media in the last 25 years, AI is on the cusp of changing business how we know it.”
As the business world evolves, the MBA Executive Board Learning Series will add topics addressing these critical needs.
The tentative outline is as follows:
Session 1: Features an overview of AI, how it shapes the outlook of modern business and the potential challenges that may arise.
Session 2: Looks into different applications of AI, including the commonly used software platforms that use AI to help process data for decision-making.
Session 3: Helps attendees understand the strategy behind prompt engineering for business and personal applications.
Session 4: Concludes the four-week series, addressing the ethics surrounding AI, including the threats it may cause regarding employment, Intellectual Property (IP) and copyright.
