Matrix Midwest is St. Louis’ only free and independent sports & entertainment network

ST. LOUIS (First Alert 4) – The only free and independent sports and entertainment network in St. Louis launched Thursday.

Matrix Midwest is available now over-the-air on channel 32 and channel 186 on Spectrum/Charter. Gray Media launched Matrix Midwest to operate alongside sister station First Alert 4 (KMOV-TV) out of St. Louis.

“There’s a hunger for more unique sports and entertainment content in the Midwest. We’re proud to provide another local platform to give our community what they want,” said JD Sosnoff, Vice President & General Manager of Matrix Midwest & KMOV-TV. “This new network brings fans free sports programming through major collaborations such as our partnership with Mizzou.”

Starting August 29th, Matrix Midwest will launch Mizzou Live with presenting sponsor Paytient, an exclusive SEC pre-and-post-game show in conjunction with the University of Missouri and Learfield, the media and technology company powering college athletics. This is the only of its kind in the Midwest, giving viewers exclusive access to their favorite team with special analysis from former player and N.F.L. star Justin Gage. The show will be carried state-wide, available in seven markets throughout Missouri; St. Louis (Matrix Midwest), Kansas City (KSMO), Cape Girardeau (KFVS-TOO), Springfield (KYCW), Hannibal (WGEM), St. Joseph (ONPN, News-Press NOW) and Columbia (KZOU).

“This innovative partnership with KMOV-TV, Matrix Midwest and Gray Media will be fantastic for our fanbase all across our great state,” University of Missouri Director of Athletics Laird Veatch said. “Having the Mizzou brand on television in such a unique way each game week during ‘Mizzou Live’ will grow our presence from St. Louis to Kansas City and everywhere in between. We appreciate KMOV’s commitment to helping us continue to grow and evolve.”

On Tuesday nights, Matrix Midwest will broadcast Tiger Talk with Head Coach Eliah Drinkwitz. The stage is set for an unstoppable season and fans will get a first look every week only on Matrix Midwest and our affiliate stations throughout Missouri.

In addition to Mizzou Live and Tiger Talk, Matrix Midwest will also broadcast Good Morning Football: Overtime from the NFL Network. The show will air weekday mornings from 9-11 a.m. starting Sept. 2.

“Meaningful partnerships like those we’re building with the University of Missouri, sports franchises throughout the state and nationally show the dedication of Matrix Midwest and Gray Media to our community,” said Mike King, Senior Managing Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer for Gray Media.

The Matrix Midwest schedule also includes special programming and regular collaborations with The St. Louis Blues, St. Louis City S.C., The Kansas City Chiefs, HBCU Go Sports, Raycom Sports, The Harlem Globetrotters and more.

Matrix Midwest pairs all of this with a wide range of entertainment programming featuring Extra, Entertainment Tonight, MyNetworkTV prime shows, Great Day St. Louis, My St. Louis Live and news from First Alert 4. Fans of the region’s culture, lifestyle and sports will all find something for them on Matrix Midwest.
