Beloved Staten Island shop to be included in N.Y. State’s Historic Business Preservation Registry
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – A beloved Staten Island business, which has served the community for 100 years, has been officially included in the New York State Historic Business Preservation Registry.
“Minkel Safe & Lock Co. Inc. has been dedicated to the safety and security of Staten Islanders for nearly a century,” said State Sen. Jessica Scarcella-Spanton (D-North Shore/South Brooklyn), who nominated the West Brighton-based business for the prestigious recognition. “The Minkel family has consistently supported our community through their craft, leaving a lasting legacy in the locksmith industry. I am honored to help recognize their storied history on the North Shore and to shine a spotlight on a small business that has stood the test of time, continuing to deliver exceptional service to the people of Staten Island. Our small businesses here are truly special, and my office is committed to highlighting their contributions to our community.”
