Man facing murder charge in shooting at illegal gambling site, Dallas police say

Dallas police on Wednesday said that a man has been arrested and is facing a capital murder charge in a July shooting at an illegal gambling site that left one man dead and another injured.

According to Dallas police, at about 8:45 p.m. July 24, officers responded to the 300 block of East Ledbetter Drive and found two men shot inside the location, which police said was an illegal gambling site.

One of the men was taken to the hospital in stable condition, while the other man, identified by police as Estevan Narvaez Jr., 40, died at the scene.

Investigators later determined at least two suspects walked into the gambling site and demanded property from the people inside before shooting once at Narvaez and fleeing, police said.
