SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (AP) — Taiwan beat Venezuela 4-1 on Saturday in the championship game of the international bracket at the Little League World Series.
Taiwan advanced to Sunday’s Little League World Series title game against the winner of the U.S. bracket semifinal between Florida and Texas.
Taiwan, representing the Asian-Pacific, finished third last season in the tournament, though all the players are new. It won its first LLWS championship since 1996 after dominating for three decades.
Venezuela, representing Latin America, fought its way into the international title game after losing its second game of the tournament to the Japanese team, 2-1.
Florida and Texas face off later Saturday.
