3 reasons why T-Pain should be on your concert radar

“Nappy Boy,” “Teddy Pain,” otherwise known as T-Pain, put on an electric show during his act on the “Party After Dark Tour” alongside Miami rapper and singer Pitbull Saturday at Hersheypark Stadium.

They both came to party.

T-Pain hit the stage at 8 p.m., kicking off with “Take Your Shirt Off” followed by fan favorite ” Up Down (Do This All Day)”. The Tallahassee rapper and singer gave the crowd plenty to look forward to and took everyone deep into the 2000s with hit after hit during his set.

For anyone wondering if they should take the walk down memory lane with T-Pain … well, here are three reasons why you should definitely make it happen:

1. He gives an energetic performance

Pain wasted no time working up a sweat as he pulled out every dance move in the book. From high kicks to twerking, T-Pain did it all. He performed for about 50 minutes, moving and grooving across the stage.

One of the best aspects of his performance was watching him enjoy performing and dancing like no one was watching. His entire set was him, the lights, and his DJ, but his energy filled the stage as if he had background dancers and a band. He sang and rapped his heart out the entire time to numerous fan favorites like “Bartender” and “Low.” It is hard to not have a good time watching that.

2. He’s hilarious

Pain stopped between songs to point out that he may have gotten the crowd a little too riled up. Acknowledging that Pitbull came on after him and usually wore a suit, the rapper wanted to try to “calm things down.”

“Pitbull is back there putting on a snug a** suit, so he can come out here and bust a couple of these [proceeds to dance, eliciting laughter from the crowd],” said Pain. “Can’t have him coming out here with a suit on, and we done took it to the ghetto.”

The DJ switched the music to a classical trap beat to excite the crowd, continuing to take it to the “ghetto,” and performed his part of Jamie Fox’s “Blame It. After a few more songs and twerking to Sexxy Red’s “Rich Baby Daddy,” it was clear the Florida rapper had no intentions of stopping the “ghetto,” even apologizing and blaming it on him and his DJ’s roots.

“I’m so sorry. I didn’t bring class,” said Pain. “DJ Monte, you’re from ATL, I’m from Tallahassee. The ghetto was bound to come out at some point.”

3. He performed all of his early 2000s hits

This man blew through his discography in under an hour, so if that was you — back in the early 2000s riding around and spinning those T-Pain discs — it is a can’t miss show.

It was a nostalgia fest for most Gen-Z and Millenial concertgoers.

Hearing “Got Money,” “I’m Sprung,” and “All I Do Is Win” live can take you back. Many were shouting from the top of their lungs, with one girl saying, “I think I’m losing my voice,” with the show only being about an hour in.

Funny, entertaining, and a crowd-pleaser, what more could you ask for?

T-Pain ended his set with “All I Do Is Win” and thanked the crowd for supporting his dreams before exiting the stage.

“Can’t thank y’all enough for coming out here and making one of my dreams come true,” he said.
