Ex-Roma goalkeeper Rui Patricio joining Atalanta, medical tomorrow

Following the expiration of his three-year contract with Roma, goalkeeper Rui Patricio is joining Atalanta on a permanent deal.

The veteran left the Italian capital as a free agent in June after the Giallorossi opted against handing him a new contract. According to Sky Sport, the shot-stopper is scheduled to arrive in Bergamo on Monday to undergo medical examinations before officially joining Atalanta.

He’s expected to sign a one-year deal with the club and become the new backup to first choice Marco Carnesecchi.

La Dea opened talks with Patricio, 36, after Juan Musso expressed his desire to transfer away from the club—three years after he originally joined from Udinese for €20 million.
