The PA Turnpike will have an increased number of GEICO Safety Patrol safety teams throughout the roadway that are there to respond to travelers in need of assistance. All roadway construction and maintenance projects will be suspended beginning Thursday, Aug. 29 at 3 p.m. until Monday, Sep. 2 at 11 p.m. to keep lanes open and minimize congestion.
While construction and maintenance projects are suspended, the PA Turnpike is reminding drivers to “Go Orange,” commit to safety, slow down, practice safe driving habits, pay attention in work zones and consider the vulnerability of highway workers who are supporting the holiday traffic. Pennsylvania State Police Troop T will also have increased patrols over the holiday weekend to respond to support roadway safety.
