Pixar’s ‘Inside Out 2’ Lands Biggest Weekly U.K. Home Entertainment Debut of the Year – Media Play News

Pixar Animation Studios’ Inside Out 2, the highest grossing theatrical release thus far in 2024, had a strong start in the U.K. retail channel, generating 111,800 digital unit sales to rank No. 1 for the week ended Aug. 28, according to new data from the Official Film Chart.

The tally was the biggest first week of sales — and week of sales overall — since Universal’s Oscar-winning Oppenheimer, which debuted with 113,800 digital unit sales in 2023.

Last week’s chart topper, Warner’s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, finished at No. 2, while the studio’s perennial charter Barbie returned to the podium at No. 3. Universal’s The Fall Guy dropped one spot to No. 4, while Warner’s Dune: Part Two moved up to No. 5.

Warner’s Wonka moved up four sports to No. 6, ahead of Sony’s Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (No. 7), and Paramount’s IF (No. 8), which was down five spots from last week. Shout! Factory’s Coraline (No. 9) moved up four spots into the top 10 for the very first time following a 15th anniversary 3D remaster and re-release in theaters.

Sony’s The Garfield Movie made its Official Film Chart debut at No. 10.
