Townsen Thomas Set to Represent USA at U-18 World Cup Event – Florida Gators

A native of Humble, Texas, Thompson will represent the USA while competing in her home state.

Incoming Florida freshman outfielder Townsen Thomas is set to represent the USA at the U-18 World Softball Baseball Confederation (WBSC) Softball World Cup Group C, opening action on Thursday in Dallas, Texas.

A native of Humble, Texas, Thomas will help lead the USA into the six-team event in her home state with the top two finishers and a pair of wild card teams earning a place in the eight-team 2025 U-18 World Cup Finals, also set to be held in Dallas. Earlier this summer, Chinese Taipei, Czechia, Japan and China earned automatic bids while Puerto Rico picked up one of the two wild card berths.

Thomas and her fellow incoming freshman class — Gabi Comia, Layla Lamar, Katelynn Oxley and Taylor Shumaker – will look to help the Gators continue as one of the nation’s elite programs after another run to the Women’s College World Series in 2024, the team’s 12th under head coach Tim Walton.
