The Week in Fashion: Winona Ryder Becomes Jimmy Choo’s Latest Muse
Welcome to the Week in Fashion, Bazaar’s at-a-glance guide to what the industry is talking about.
Winona Ryder Evokes ’90s Glamour in New Jimmy Choo Campaign
It’s been an exciting few months for Winona Ryder. Earlier this week, our August cover star saw the premiere of her highly anticipated horror-comedy sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice at the 81st Venice International Film Festival. Meanwhile, it was just announced last month that her smash Netflix series Stranger Things is halfway through filming its final season. Now, the wins keep coming for the queen of ’90s indie cinema, as she’s fronting a fabulous new campaign for Jimmy Choo.
Ryder models pieces from the luxury fashion house’s autumn collection, called “Glamour Refined,” in a shoot conceived by Ezra Petronio and Lana Petrusevych. In photos captured by Petronio, Ryder is slicked-back and looking effortlessly cool as she sports all-black leather ensembles with accents of red.
According to the brand, the collection evokes “the pared-back style and cultural reset of the late ’90s; as embodied by Winona—an icon, then and now.” The pieces include cinch bags, ankle boots, kitten heels, and more. Shop the entire collection now.
eBay Launches Its First-Ever “Pre-Loved” Fashion Week
While Fashion Month is typically about the new pieces entering the market, eBay has put a decidedly fresh spin on the fall’s most talked-about event by launching its own “Pre-Loved” Fashion Week in collaboration with the Council of Fashion Designers of America and the British Fashion Council.
Ahead of New York and London’s official fashion weeks, the resale site will host live runway shows in those cities, at which all the designer pieces that go down the catwalk will be available for viewers to shop immediately after the presentation. The first show was curated by Wisdom Kaye and will be hosted by Liana Satenstein.
Not to mention, there will also be daily drops on the eBay website, under the “Endless Runway” section, where shoppers can find pre-loved clothing and accessories to browse and buy for themselves. Check out the space, and make sure to check it during Fashion Month for more updates.
Boucheron Taps Mina From Twice As Its New Ambassador
Another day, another pop star getting an ambassadorship from a major luxury label. Earlier this week, it was announced that Mina from the K-pop group Twice is Japan’s new ambassador for French jewelry maison Boucheron.
“I am honored to become a brand ambassador of a high jewelry maison with heritage and creativity,” the singer said in a statement. “Through exciting opportunities, I want to enhance myself and express Boucheron’s singular identity.”
For the campaign, she posed in a number of minimalistic looks—including a strapless black gown and a white top paired with a denim button-up—that allowed the luxury jewelry to shine.
“Mina perfectly embodies these values that are so dear to us,” Boucheron CEO Hélène Poulit-Duquesne said. “She chose to follow her dreams and embrace an artistic career. With her unique personality, infectious energy, and bold style, she is the ideal ambassador for the maison. Her impressive journey as an artist, but also as a strong and determined woman, can only inspire us.”
The Latest Louis Vuitton Cup Sets Sail Ahead of the 37th America’s Cup
The America’s Cup is a sailing competition held every three to four years, and it stands as the oldest international sporting competition still in operation (having begun back in 1851). This year, the competition returns, with Louis Vuitton remaining closely connected to it.
The French fashion house kicked off one of the qualifying events for the competition, the Louis Vuitton Cup, on Thursday in Barcelona. The five challengers in the race are: INEOS Britannia, Alinghi Red Bull Racing, Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli, NYYC American Magic, and Orient Express Racing Team.
There will be three phases of the event, with the winning challenger moving on to face Emirates Team New Zealand.
Louis Vuitton has been attached to the sailing competition since 1983, when the brand were contacted by New York Yacht Club member Paul Madden to be the sponsor for a challenger event leading up to the official America’s Cup.

Shot in the Lake District of the United Kingdom, the latest campaign from Burberry uses a picturesque setting to perfectly match the serene vibes of their luxury clothing.
“We were inspired by the characters who wear Burberry, and the outdoors and landscapes that are part of the brand’s heritage,” chief creative officer Daniel Lee said. “The Lake District feels familiar, and it has a sense of adventure.”
In finely tailored trenches, wool kilts featuring the classic Burberry check, sweaters, and more, a series of stars posed in the newest pieces from the brand’s Winter 2024 collection, with names like Agyness Deyn, Adwoa Aboah, Lila Moss, Lily Donaldson, Lina Zhang, Maya Wigram, Nora Attal, and more taking part.
