Hammer-wielding trio wanted in robbery at Pentagon City mall, noises startled customers
ARLINGTON, Va. (7News) — Arlington County Police are investigating after loud noises were heard inside The Fashion Centre at Pentagon City Sunday afternoon startling customers.
The initial report came in as shots fired in the 1100 block of South Fern Street, but police have now said it was not a shooting but instead a robbery.
Three suspects went into a business with hammers and broke a glass display case. They also used a fire extinguisher in the robbery. The suspects then fled on foot.
Several people on social are sharing what they experienced.
@RealJacobB_ posted on X, “Definitely a smash-and-grab attempt with sledgehammers and fire extinguishers.”
Police remain on the scene and are investigating.
They say they are looking for teen suspects who were wearing all black.
No injuries were reported.
