Viñals, Adamou Represent Elon At World Athletic U20 Championships – Elon University Athletics

Lima, Peru – Elon track & field student-athletes Duna Viñals and Stavriana Adamou competed in hurdles at the World Athletics U20 Championships over the past week. Viñals ran the 400 hurdles Wednesday and Adamou competed in the 100 hurdles Thursday.
 
Viñals placed fifth in her heat with a time of 1:01.20 in the 400 hurdles, placing 32^nd out of 51 total competitors. In the 100 hurdles, Adamou ran 14.64 seconds and ended seventh in her heat. In total, she placed 51^st out of 56 runners.
 

Viñals will be a freshman for Elon during the 2024-25 season while Adamou will be a sophomore. She placed ninth at the CAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships a year ago with a time of 14.40 seconds, the ninth-fastest in program history.
