Shure Reveals Its First Dynamic USB Mic For Gaming And Streaming

Shure has had a busy year with lots of new product launches. The latest to be unveiled is the new dynamic MV6 USB Gaming Microphone. Designed for PC gamers and streamers, the MV6 provides high-quality audio at an affordable price and has Shure’s signature look and feel.

The MV6 USB Gaming Microphone is ready to use and easy to set up thanks to integrated DSP technology which includes Auto Level Mode, Digital Popper Stopper and Real-time Denoiser. The new MV6 is certified for OBS.

Inspired by Shure’s iconic SM7 and MV7 lines, the MV6 is aimed at gamers and streamers looking to upgrade to their first professional-quality microphone. Dynamic mics are great at isolating voices from background sounds and room acoustics which are big issues when used in untreated streaming and gaming spaces.

The combination of the MV6’s dynamic cartridge with advanced DSP features and integration with Shure’s MOTIV Mix app means that gamers and streamers can get studio-quality sound without worrying about gain adjustments, plosives or background noise with a tap-to-mute button adding an extra level of control.

Voice Isolation Technology used in the MV6 reduces background noise and eliminates distractions. Condenser microphones are very sensitive and can pick up unwanted room noise or acoustics, the combination of the MV6’s dynamic capsule and Voice Isolation Technology makes the user’s voice clear and prominent

Auto Level Mode is another feature provided by the MV6. This feature automatically adjusts the microphone’s gain level based on how far away the user is and how loud their voice is. This ensures consistent audio levels up to 18’ inches away from the microphone, resulting in great sound wherever the mic is placed on a desk.

Digital Popper Stopper is a virtual pop filter that tames the plosive and popping sounds with a digital filter for a cleaner audio capture without the need for a foam windshield or pop filter.

Finally, a Real-Time Denoiser can eliminate background noise. The technology works in tandem with the mic’s Voice Isolation Technology to produce a cleaner and more professional sound. This feature is useful for streamers and gamers playing in less controlled environments where there are background noises like a fan or air-conditioning.

The MV6 joins Shure’s MV7+ as one of the first microphones to receive the OBS certification in collaboration with the OBS Project. This certification guarantees that the MV6 microphone meets the criteria necessary to ensure users have a positive experience when using the microphone with OBS.

The MV6 works with Shure’s MOTIV Mix app that lets users customize their mic and mix multiple channels of audio and stream. The new 1.2 Beta Version offers extra functionality, including activity presets that save time setting up each session, a background noise detection with the use of Sound Check with tips on reducing ambient noise. There is also an improved setup flow to get started more easily with the MOTIV Mix app.

The MV6 Gaming Microphone, with USB-C compatibility and MFi certification, can connect with PCs and Macs, as well as select Apple and Android mobile devices. The built-in 3.5mm headphone output enables real-time monitoring, while a versatile 12cm desktop stand and base-mount adapter offer flexible setup options.
